Performance Art

Everyday Marvels is a new, episodic performance installation conceived, created and directed by Shannon Litzenberger. The program will feature 16 miniature vignettes (or ‘marvels’) created by 8 local choreographers based on Lorna Crozier’s recently published volume of poetry The Book of Marvels – A Compendium of Everyday Things. The quotidian objects interpreted in Corzier’s poems, such as ‘bowl’, ‘vacuum’, ‘flashlight’, and ‘wheelbarrow’, will become the subjects of exploration through a cyclical, 12-hour, performance piece.

The cast of Everyday Marvels will feature more than 50 professional and community-based artists.

Shannon Litzenberger is a dance artist, writer, director and advocate. She has collaborated with some of Canada’s most dynamic artistic voices.
