Peggy Baker Dance Projects and Canada's National Ballet School
Dance Installation and Performance
Canadian dance icon Peggy Baker’s fourth Scotiabank Nuit Blanche dance installation sets ten dancers in motion, each performing a six-minute solo in succession, cycling for the full twelve hours. The performers dance while describing, in their mother tongues, the symbolic meaning of key words that relate to the natural world, our bodies, and the objects we make and use. Each audience member is invited to contribute their voice to an interactive soundscape and projection design by Debashis Sinha. The Perfect Word blends voice, symbols, movement, and imagery to create an evolving anthology of human language.
Peggy Baker Dance Projects offers experiences of significance, personal connection and transformative potential through the power and beauty of dance.
