Nathalie Quagliotto's Rose for One will have a flower man distribute 1,000 yellow roses to people who are walking by themselves. Yellow roses symbolize friendship and never romance. Just by changing the colour of the rose, a normal sight in an urban area will be turned upside down. In other words, one will usually see a man walk into romantic restaurants and offer red roses at a price to couples.  In this case, passersby will witness a sight they would not normally see: a man carrying and distributing a bouquet of yellow roses.

Out of Site: Contemporary Art Works on Queen Street West is curated by Earl Miller.
