Sound Installation

Streams and rivers once ran freely through Toronto, but with increasing development many have been re-routed underground. Made simply with light and audio, this work is created with multiple radios installed throughout a specific site, each tuned to a transmission of the sounds of running water. This installation highlights part of Taddle Creek, just one of many brooks running silently below the surface of the city, reminding us of the natural world within the urban core.

Eleanor King is an interdisciplinary artist who exhibits and attends residency programs nationally and internationally, most recently at Confederation Centre, Eastern Edge Gallery, and The Banff Centre. Her installations are inspired by everyday life. She teaches and is Exhibitions Coordinator at Anna Leonowens Gallery at NSCAD University.
