A Wall is a Screen: Tearing Down Walls

A Wall is a Screen - Hamburg, Germany

Screening

A combination of city tour, film night & art project: the German artist group A Wall is a Screen guides the audience through downtown Toronto and stops at selected locations to project short films on walls and surfaces - live, with projector, generator, speakers in tow. Each film communicates with the environment and vice versa. Participants become protagonists, passersby become actors.

In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, AWIAS has curated a special program for Toronto on the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Founded at Hamburg Short Film Fest in 2003, AWIAS has traveled the world as a mobile projection unit, from India to Russia, from Palestine to SXSW.

Schedule

Two 2-hour film walks from 100 University Ave, one at 8 pm and one at 11 pm. Plus all-night installation at King & Emily Streets. No registration necessary.
