Chic Point reflects on power, politics and the everyday, often creating junctions between particular moments in the present and cultural references from the past.

This work ponders, imagines, and interrogates "fashion for Israeli checkpoints."

Sharif Waked is a Nazareth born artist who lives and works in Haifa and Nazareth. Waked has exhibited at various museums, biennials, and art venues including the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan (2012), The Jerusalem Show V, (2011), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (2011), Queensland Art Gallery, Australia (2010), Royal Academy of Arts, London (2010) among others. His work reflects on power, politics and the everyday, often creating junctions between particular moments in the present and cultural references from the past.
