American artists Robin Lasser and Adrienne Pao transform various styles of tents and nomadic structures into wearable garments.  These dress tents investigate desire from a female-centered perspective using seduction as a vehicle to explore the relationship between the body and the land. The Ice Queen Glacial Retreat Dress Tent investigates global warming and its catastrophic effects on weather. The body as the role of shelter evokes images relating to human interactions with the land. Collaborating with Toronto choreographer Cara Spooner, the Ice Queen will be animated with Butoh-inspired contemporary dance. For the first time in Lasser/Pao's history, their dress tent will include site-specific, dance performance, personifying the character that the Ice Queen dress tent represents through movement and dance vocabulary.

Dancer/Choreographer Cara Spooner creates site-specific installation/dance. Robin Lasser, Art Professor at SJSU, creates installations, video, sound and photographic works. Adrienne Pao is a Photographer and Artist based in San Francisco.  Robin Lasser/Adrienne Pao have collaborated on the Dress Tent project since 2004.
